Foundi is a small winery making old-fashioned (in a good way) wines in the heart of Naoussa. The Estate Xinomavro is from a single 1.5 hectare vineyard in the Karaoutsa area. It spends a year in French oak. This is Xinomavro at its ageworthy best. The wine is dense, rich and structured - fuller-bodied, with rounder, richer fruit than the 'Naoussea' bottling. It has the tomato leaf/olive character of traditional Xinomavro, and after a few years in bottle opens up gloriously. It can easily evolve for 10+ years from vintage.
